Another TruGreen Guy
We get lots of comments from other lawn care professionals here, sometimes we approve them sometimes we just delete them. Believe it or not they aren’t always “Family Friendly.” It seems like we get at least one comment from Trugreen employees per month and yesterday we received this from a person who claimed to be a Trugreen sales person. I guess I don’t completely disagree with everything he says but I certainly would take issue with a couple of his claims.
I know one thing for sure, employees of Trugreen, whether they are lawn techs, sales people or managers work about as hard as anybody does at any job ANYWHERE. It’s a production driven system and a great career path. In the past I’ve applauded Trugreen for introducing their own “Tru Natural” program. As they say, “a rising tide raises all ships.”
I’m acquainted with more than a few people who either work at Trugreen now or have in the past. Heck, I even worked there for a brief period of time back in 1996. Yes, it’s true the Trugreen products and programs do work. When the program is delivered appropriately it works very well. There are hundreds of thousands of happy Trugreen customer’s out there and they continue to be the world wide leader in lawn care. I just happen to think we can do the same exact thing, create healthy turf, without using so many chemicals and pesticides.
I guess I just don’t know why their employee’s keep sending me messages!

I am a door-to-door sales rep. for Trugreen, so I see at least 100 lawns per day. I speak from experience when I say that 100% organic lawns look like crap. They’re full of weeds because there is no effective organic weed killer in existence. Yet, people will pay through the nose for the stuff simply because it’s labeled “organic”. It’s so stupid. Trugreen products actually work. Yeah, they use chemicals, but so what? There are chemicals in everything, everywhere. The human body is made up of millions of chemicals. What’s the big deal?

I guess we better be thankful they are not our doctors. “What’s the big deal?” They obviously still don’t get what’s the big deal. Just go visit a children’s hospital and visit all the children that are being treated for cancer. For what? for the stupid lawn? I don’t give a shit that my lawn look like crap, I’m not going to give my kids cancer so my neighbor can feel good when they look at my freakin ‘lawn. I’m not going to bury my kids because I’m of what my neighbors think of my grass. Go to hell Trugreen and take your family-killing fake grass with you!

I have been in this industry since 1993. I could tell you all sorts of stories about the differant products I have used over the years. I will say that the Firebelly Lawncare system does work. I have the pictures to prove it. It’s not all about “Killing Weeds”. Does the Tru-Green guy really think that the only way is the chemical way? If the Tru-Green guy was truly a “Professional” he would know that Lawn Guys control weeds not “Kill weeds”. Mow high, water deeply every few days, aerate/overseed yearly, and of course apply firebelly and your lawn will do fine. A thick turf will CHOKE out weeds eventually. 6 Min per lawn? How the heck can you measure a lawn in that time.

I’m a new intending sales rep for a weedcare company [not Trugreen] : General Sales advice wanted, does anyone have any advice on Trugreen average or top door-to-door sales figures. Meaning number of doors knocked, number of average appointments made, number of sales per sales talk or dem ,av sales per day, av sales per hour, average commission, bonuses. Better still the top sales reps best day, best week, best year, or the highest average daily sales figures.
THE CANCER ISSUE:
In the post above someone mentioned chemicals and cancer, this was untrue and to be ignored. Please accept the average person cares little about cancer, accepts it death toll, and acts the fools when the cancer problem worldwide is brought up. Proof, smoking kills, smoking causes cancer – now how many people have you met who explicitly tell you “I know longer smoke because I’m afraid of getting cancer”. The answers none. OOOOOOOOO zilch. And whats really behind the cancer deaths increase [three things] Burnt food, food cooked at high temperatures in old burnt oil, and BARBECUE FOOD. Please I beg you if someone says we are having a barbecue -then run-a-mile. Smoke kills and smoke can be burnt and caught inside of food esp meat, and burnt food is a killer. I f your not interested in saving your own life then please never allow children to smoke cigs, to eat smoked food, or to eat barbecued foods. Are you buying bread today – look at the base of the loaf before you eat it?????
